I stumbled upon Kode Girl while traveling through the Northern Island of New Zealand. This cute hip store located in New Plymouth was the perfect choice for my shoot, just in front of the Len Lye Center.
As quoted on the website of Kode Girl: “Our aim is to have something for everyone as we believe ‘variety is the spice of life’. We have mixed up our products to cater for all wraps of life” and the two lovely sisters definitely stand for that. Their cloths have indeed a great variety, both fashionable and every-day clothes.
New Zealand in particular is a beautiful country with a lot, I mean a LOT of green. Wherever you go, you have farms along the curvy roads selling fresh avocados, their homemade beauty products, freshly pressed olive oil or delicious fruits and berries.
What stood out the most for me is that New Zealanders make most out of everything they have as resources in their country. Wether it’s beauty products out of honey, lanolin, thermal minerals and mud or clothes out of the wool of thousands of sheep (did you know there are more sheep in New Zealand then people?) or fashionable accessories out of their pests such as Possum fur.
Thanks to the two lovely sisters of Kode Girl for making the world a better place by sharing their passion for fashion. Shop all their products online or visit them in their store in New Plymouth.
